The relationship between Human / former Beast Vessel Mason Hewitt and Chimera Corey Bryant
Mason and Corey met in the first half of Season 5 after Corey had begun to realize that there was something wrong with him. With Scott’s help, Mason determined that Corey was turned into a Chimera by the Dread Doctors like so many other teenagers in Beacon Hills. From then on, Mason tried his best to help Corey learn how to control his powers while also trying to make him more comfortable with the McCall Pack, but despite Mason’s best efforts, the Dread Doctors still found Corey rejecting his transformation and killed him.
However, after Theo Raeken, a fellow Chimera, resurrected Corey and three others with the Dread Doctors’ green serum, Mason did his best to keep Corey connected to his humanity by helping him through the darkened personality all of the revived Chimeras experienced following their resurrection. Though Corey was initially a member of the Chimera Pack (albeit mostly out of fear of Theo’s retribution), he ultimately became allies with the McCall Pack when it became clear that Mason was the vessel for the Beast of Gevaudan, who Theo intended to kill in order to steal its power. Once Mason was rescued and the Beast defeated, Mason and Corey continued their romantic relationship, and Corey became an official member of the McCall Pack.
Mason and Corey are also known as Morey (and are less commonly known as Cason) by fans.
Throughout Teen Wolf
In Strange Frequencies, Mason met Corey for the first time in the library of Beacon Hills High School. When Mason saw Corey— who he recognized as being the boyfriend of Lucas, a Werewolf/Scorpion Chimera who he had made out with at Sinema and was nearly been attacked by in Condition Terminal— he immediately turned to try to avoid being spotted by him. Unfortunately for Mason, Corey saw him anyway and walked toward him to introduce himself. After Mason identified Corey as being Lucas’ boyfriend, Corey mentioned that he had heard that Mason was one of the last people to talk to Lucas before he was killed, causing Mason to become even more uncomfortable. When Corey asked him if Lucas had said anything about him before his death, Mason awkwardly explained that he hadn’t, which seemed to sadden Corey. Right before Corey walked away, Mason saw him return a book to the bookshelf that was about «the miracle of healing,» which caused Mason to suspect that Corey was a Chimera as well.
This suspicion was later proven to be true when Mason ran into Corey at Sinema, where Corey was trying to get drunk but failing due to his healing ability. Despite his inability to get intoxicated, Corey still attempted to make out with Mason anyway, only for Mason to back away from him and correctly guess that the scorpion sting Corey sustained from Lucas in Condition Terminal had completely healed, which Corey confirmed by showing him his blemish-free arm. With this discovery, Mason went looking for Scott, who was distraught by the capture of Liam and Hayden by the Dread Doctors, and ultimately brought Corey back to the McCall House with them.
In Ouroboros, Mason stayed with Corey in Scott’s bedroom while Corey read The Dread Doctors novel in hopes that he could trigger memories of the Dread Doctors’ experimentation that would help the McCall Pack locate Hayden and Liam. Like the others, Mason was shocked when Scott, desperate to find his Beta and his innocent friend, performed the Alpha memory-manipulation ritual on Corey by inserting his claws in the back of his neck without any warning. After getting an idea of where Hayden and Liam were being held in Corey’s memories, Mason left Corey in the care of Theo Raeken and Lydia Martin while he went with Scott and Malia Tate to find their friends.
In Lies of Omission, Mason saw Corey trying to get into his locker at school and accidentally breaking the lock with his super-strength. When Mason remarked that Corey seemed to be getting stronger, Corey, curious about the extent of his powers, asked him how much stronger he was going to get, which led Mason to suggest that they find out. The two went to the school’s weight room, where Corey began bench-pressing increasing amounts of weight, eventually hitting around 800 pounds with only a minute amount of effort. After this, Corey stopped what he was doing and asked if his supernatural strength meant that he was a successful Chimera. Mason wasn’t sure but slyly mentioned that Scott might know before insisting that while Corey’s first meeting with Scott may not have been his best day, Scott wanted nothing more than to help people, and tried much more than most people would. However, Corey ignored this remark in favor of trying to add more weights to the barbell to test his strength.
A short time afterward, Theo and Scott saw Corey being rushed into an ambulance on a gurney with Mason trying his best to keep up with them. Both Corey and Mason were covered in black blood and modified mercury, making it obvious that Corey had begun showing signs of rejecting his Chimera transformation by projectile vomiting the fluids all over the both of them while Corey was weight-training. Despite Theo and Scott’s attempts to help Corey, he was still killed by the Dread Doctors (specifically The Surgeon and his sword-cane) for being a failure, thereby ending Mason and Corey’s relationship for a short time until Corey’s resurrection in Status Asthmaticus.
In Damnatio Memoriae, Mason attended the library clean-up event at Beacon Hills High School with Liam Dunbar in order to restore the library to how it was prior to Scott McCall and Liam’s fight in Status Asthmaticus. While in the middle of the discussion about both Hayden Romero and Josh Diaz having been brought back from the dead with the Dread Doctors’s green serum by Theo Raeken, Corey arrived and asked them if they volunteered to help clean up the library as well.
Once inside the library, Mason, with Liam’s encouragement, went over to Corey to talk to him and try to covertly get answers about how Corey was resurrected as well. Corey confirmed that he was, in fact, alive, but when Mason wondered aloud how his parents took the news, Corey sadly remarked that his parents didn’t notice him much prior to his death and that they were mostly just happy at the prospect of suing Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital.
Mason, saddened by this response, asked him if his parents were at least happy that he was alive, Corey changed the subject and asked Mason if he was happy he was alive. Mason made it clear that Corey being alive was much better than him being dead, albeit awkwardly, and Corey, amused, pointed out that it was pretty obvious that he had no idea what to say to him. After Mason confirmed this to be true, Corey asked him if he wanted to go out on Saturday, much to Mason’s happiness.
Afterward, when Liam confronted Mason about what information he got from talking to Corey, Mason informed him that they had a date on Saturday, causing Liam to remind him in a frustrated tone that the goal was to find out more about Theo’s plans. Mason retorted that Theo’s «evil Chimera pack» wasn’t a natural progression of the conversation, Liam vowed to talk to Corey himself.
However, Corey had moved out to the hallway, where he was found camouflaged by Theo, who insisted that Corey, now fully and successfully transitioned into his Chimera nature, no longer had to pretend to be normal or nice. When Corey insisted that he wasn’t going to hurt Mason or anyone else in the McCall Pack, Theo assured him that he had no interest in asking him to before revealing that, though the McCall Pack didn’t know it yet, their own pack was going to protect them just as Theo was going to protect him. Corey seemed relieved to know that he wouldn’t have to hurt Mason, but became anxious again when Theo demanded that he come with him, using a veiled threat regarding Corey dying again to ensure he complied.
In Codominance, Mason and Corey (along with Liam and Hayden) were in Mrs. Finch’s biology lab when she instructed the odd numbered rows to pair up with the person behind them. Corey was initially paired up with another male student, but Mason, who was developing a crush on Corey, quickly pulled the student aside and took his seat so they could work together.
Later in the school day, Corey approached Mason in the boys locker room just before the two left to go to gym class. Corey, happy to see Mason again, asked him if he wanted to go on another date, and Mason immediately answered «Yes» without thinking it through. After realizing what he had just done, Mason began to go back on what he said and amended it with «No. No way.» Confused, Corey asked Mason why he didn’t want to go out, causing Mason to exasperatedly retort, «You actually have to ask ‘Why not?'» Corey shrugged and pointed out that they clearly liked each other, so they should go out again, leading Mason to argue that Corey was in Theo Raeken’s Chimera Pack, which he dubbed the «bad guys.»
Corey continued to argue that they weren’t the bad guys, but Mason maintained that, since the Chimeras were associated with the Dread Doctors, who were, in Mason’s mind, definitely the «bad guys,» the Chimera Pack were given the same designation. Frustrated, Corey retorted, «That’s what none of you get. There aren’t gonna be any good guys or bad guys— it’s either gonna be dead or alive.» Corey went on to point out that he wanted to be alive before asking Mason if he wanted to be alive as well. Mason sadly replied that he had no interest in being alive if it meant being left standing with the «bad guys,» so Corey suggested that Mason instead stay alive with him before passionately kissing him. After a long moment, the two pulled away, and Mason conceded to staying alive with him before adding «But, I’m not going out with you again.»
When Corey gave him a look, Mason’s resolve faltered, and he added «…Probably not.» Corey changed the subject back to pack business and informed him that, while he was sure Mason wouldn’t believe it, Theo was actually looking for the same thing as Mason’s Alpha, Scott McCall. Mason asked him if he meant the so-called «last Chimera,» but Corey responded that Theo wasn’t calling it that— he was calling it «the Beast.»
Later that night, Mason joined Liam in going to the McCall House, where Mason informed Scott and the newly-returned Kira Yukimura that he had learned from Corey what Theo was planning— he was looking for a blind Alpha for guidance, which Scott and Kira immediately realized meant Theo was seeking out Deucalion.

Trivia
- Mason and Corey are one of the several same-sex relationships that have had a significant role in the story in Teen Wolf, including Danny and Ethan, Caitlin and Emily, Lorraine and Maddy, and Corey and Lucas.
- Both Mason and Corey are genetic chimeras, though Corey was one who gained powers and became a pseudo-supernatural Chimera, while Mason’s powers were only due to his possession by the Beast of Gevaudan.
- During Season 5 they have a complicated relationship due to the fact they were in different packs and each distrusted the other’s Alphas. But at the end, when it became clear that Theo Raeken, Corey’s «Alpha,» wanted the Beast’s powers, Corey’s feelings for Mason make him leave the Chimera Pack in order to join the McCall Pack.
- In Blitzkrieg, it shows explicitly than Mason’s feelings for Corey continue to grow after Corey’s capture by the Ghost Riders; Mason found Corey’s phone, a relic of his existence, and began looking at photos of them together on it.
- In Said the Spider to the Fly, Corey revealed his and Mason’s plan to attend UCLA together after they graduate high school, implying they intend to continue their long-term relationship while in college.
- During the war against the Hunters and the Anuk-Ite, Corey became worried that his relationship with Mason, as a relationship between a pseudo-supernatural Chimera and a human, will put Mason in danger of being collateral damage. However, Mason refused to allow the war to break them apart and considered himself to be fully on the supernatural side.
- In The Wolves of War, they both admitted that they love each other.
- At the end of the show in the final scene neither of them appear and there are no clues about what happened to them during the time between the end of the war and Alec’s appearance. There is no confirmation or negation about if they are still alive or if they’re both dead.
- Mason can always sense where Corey is, even when Corey is using his camouflage powers. It’s presumably due to their strong bond.
